Complex Spinal Pain:
Barbara specialises in helping people with complex, persistent neck and back pain that have tried other treatment approaches, including surgery, but still have significant long term disabling pain and discomfort. She uses a whole different approach to treating long-standing neck and back pain (e.g. disc bulges and old injuries) that is not limited to focusing on the local area.
She will carry out a thorough examination of the whole system, from the feet to the skull, to identify the true underlying causes of your pain – which can be physical and non-physical. She will systematically correct any dysfunction and imbalance to ensure a long-term successful recovery and that you are functionally fit to do what you love.
Womens Health:
Pregnancy, faulty breathing patterns and lack of pelvic floor awareness can disrupt or even disconnect your core. If the core components aren’t working collectively many Moms can experience back pain, incontinence and a persistent diastasis recti.
Barbara also helps mothers postpartum to properly retrain their core system from months to years after childbirth. She will help you retrain your core system as a whole to save off unnecessary pain, pelvic floor incontinence and more serious issues like pelvic organ prolapse – not just immediately postpartum but often later on in your postmenopausal years.
*It is best to get a thorough assessment of your entire core after childbirth before starting any pelvic floor program (e.g. Kegel’s), Pilates, any gym program and especially any activity that involves running.
